I have insurance that is PPOM managed through United Health Care and it covers diabetes related things fine. However they like finding ways to not cover claims. Example? last year I had to wear a cardiac event monitor initially for a month, but after four days they had enough info from it that they took me off of it. So four days $1935.00 and insurance is saying the company that provides and analyzes the monitor is out of network even though the doctor I saw that gave it to me and prescribed it is in network. How the heck was I supposed to know it wouldn't be covered if the dr I saw was in network? Gah! anyway, the company filed an appeal. I filed an appeal and I'm left thinking how much i hate my insurance company once again. That being said, at least I have insurance. things could be worse...
